Indian Almond Leaves


For use in Betta breeding set ups, Characin, Killies or any other soft/acid loving species.
Useful in quarantine or hospital tanks to reduce fungal & bacterial outbreaks.
Lasts for ages if kept dry.

Where our leaves come from...


Imported direct from the Far East, loose & in filter bags . These are naturally fallen leaves high in tannin not picked & dried. Soak a leaf or bag in a bucket of water for 7 - 10 days to leech out all the tannin & other properties of the leaves.



Benefits of these leaves are:-

Helps reduce pH to make the water more acidic.
Releases anti fungal & anti bacterial properties
Is reported to act as a general tonic & colour stimulant. Also reputed to give higher fertility.

These are approx 7" minimum size.
One leaf will treat up to 10 gallons.

Filled with 2 leaves each bag.
One bag will treat up to 20 gallons.

Alder cones

We've known about Alder cones for some time but never really experimented with them until recently where we tried them out in Killifish egg containers. No fungus growth could be observed in any container. It's early days before we can try it out on more species but initial results look fantastic.
Top Corydoras breeders have been using it for some time with good results. It's got to be something to look at in any egg protection set up.
These are raw cones taken from the tree. We use one cone to a margarine tub but these are powerful & turn the water dark brown in a few days. Although they do no harm to the eggs we water change to weaken it down. Dried cones can be stored for long periods.
