Plants

We have started moving into another fish house where we are expanding on home grown plants. Plants are now in & growing on.
This section will expand over the summer months (2008).

Java Moss

Very versatile plant. You can just drop it in the tank to form dense clumps, fix it to bogwood etc or make living backgrounds out of greenhouse shading material stuck to your back wall.
We use it in guppy young growing out tanks. They pick away at the small foods which colonise it.

Due to demand we are taking this plant off the list for a while to allow it to grow back.
This is grown in our fish house.
Apologies for inconvenience.

Salvinia

Floating plant useful for shade. Roots suck out Nitrate. Quickly forms a carpet over the surface if adequate light is provided.
Can be put on outdoor ponds over the summer where it can spread rapidly in sunlight. Take out surplus growth to control it & put in your compost bin. Will not survive UK winters.

Cryptocoryne sp.

Must admit to not knowing the right name for this sp. It has been called C.harteliana & affinis by some aquarists. All I know is it's attractive & grows really well in my water which is slightly alkaline & GH 8.
