Bacterial Dip Slides

Green side (TCBS agar) shows Vibrio spp. cultures (useful in tests with brine shrimp hatching & rearing tanks).
Clear side (Marine agar) shows heterotrophic bacteria.

 

  • Monitors bacterial population
  • Dip all the strip into water for 2 seconds.
  • Replace dip back in container & store between 25-35°C for 12-18 hours.
  • Compare colony with chart.

£3 each dip tester.

 

Count all bacterial colonies on each agar side & multiply by 20 to estimate the number of Vibrio cultures per mm of water. In severe cases count one of these cells & multiply by 10 & then 20 to obtain the number per mm.
